Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) is an international Indian automotive company headquartered in Mumbai. It was founded in 1945 as Mahindra & Muhammad and later renamed Mahindra & Mahindra. Part of the Mahindra Group, M&M is one of the largest car manufacturers in India. Its subsidiary Mahindra Tractors is the world's largest producer of tractors. It is ranked 17th in the list of top companies in India by the Fortune India 500 in 2018. Its main competitors in the Indian market include Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors.

Mahindra began assembling the Jeep CJ3 in 1954, with smaller cars for sale in 1965. In 1979 the licensing of Peugeot diesel four-cylinder engines and transmissions began, and in 1982 they teamed up with Kia Motors to build their four-gear KMT90. and an appeal was announced. The Mahindra MM models have been the lead in the program and were eventually awarded the 1.8-liter Isuzu petrol engine in addition to international and Peugeot diesel. Mahindra began making passenger cars for the first time with Logan in April 2007 under the joint venture of Mahindra Renault. M&M entered for the first time in heavy duty trucks with the Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, in partnership with International Truck, USA. South African Police Mahindra XUV500

Mahindra produces many types of vehicles including MUVs, LCVs and three-wheel drive. It produces more than 20 types of vehicles, including large, used multi-purpose vehicles such as the Scorpio and Bolero. It had previously partnered with Ford called Ford India Private Limited to build passenger cars.

At the 2008 Delhi auto show, Mahindra executives said the company was pursuing a strong product development plan that would see the launch of new platforms and vehicles over the next three years, including an entry-level SUV designed to accommodate five passengers and powered by a small, turbocharged Diesel engine. True to their word, Mahindra & Mahindra launched Mahindra Xylo in January 2009, selling more than 15,000 units in its first six months. And in early 2008, Mahindra began its first overseas operation by launching Mahindra Scorpio in Egypt, in partnership with Bavarian Auto Group. This was soon followed by convention sites in Brazil.
